Before this trip, we hadn’t been to Disneyland Paris for 9 years, so although we had experience of the place, we still weren’t sure what had changed in that time and all the things to expect when we arrived. We decided to visit during the 25th anniversary celebration year; we had actually managed to enjoy some of the 15th anniversary celebrations during our last trip, even though we were a year late, so knew we had some treats in store. We planned a lot more in advance with this visit, deciding to stay off site, but still super close, planning some of our meal options and making a rough itinerary on the attractions we wanted to experience. This was also important given that one of our group was 26 weeks pregnant, which would limit some of the things that she might be able to do whilst we were there. There is still plenty to do and we will cover that at some point, so here’s a little look at what we did in the first half of our trip.
We had a morning flight, so landed in Paris right around lunchtime. We made it to our hotel early afternoon and were able to be in the resort about 5pm; I would highly recommend doing this if you can and buying that extra day of park tickets as were able to experience so much in those first few hours. We had our first dinner in Planet Hollywood and used a discount code we received when buying our park tickets before we left, which was perfect and a great way to start our visit. We then wandered around Disneyland Park, went on a good number of rides as the lines were shorter later in the day and stayed for the Disney Illuminations show and firework display that evening. And we were back at the hotel early enough to get a good amount of sleep ready for an early start the following morning.
We headed back to Disneyland Park for a 10am start the next day and spent our first full day in that park. We didn’t have the best weather, it was cloudy and a bit rainy for most of the day, but that didn’t stop us doing everything we wanted to – experiencing as many rides as we could, sampling some of the delicious treats on offer and doing a bit of shopping at all of the incredible stores on Main Street. We also caught Disney Stars on Parade, which was a fantastic new addition – it was a shame it wasn’t on more than once per day, as it got pretty crowded, but worth the wait. That evening we went outside the park for our meal choice, going to Alfred Burger, and having a gorgeous meal for a much more reasonable price than would’ve been on offer in the Disney resort.
