Sleek Make-up

Although we occasionally splurge on luxury make-up products, most of our collections are made up of high street brands and we love finding new ones to try. Our most recent discovery is Sleek Make-up, an affordable line of cosmetics, some of which we’ve picked up over the last couple of weeks. Here’s a look at the products we chose:

Precious Metals Highlighting Palette – I love to highlight – I’ve had Bobbi Brown and Benefit highlighters in the past and adore the difference they make to my face and my overall makeup look when I apply them. That’s why I picked out this palette: it contains four different shades, each for a different area of the face. One is designed for the brow bone, one for the cheekbones, one for the bridge of the nose and the last for the cupid’s bow of the top lip. One is a powder consistency, whereas the other three are more like a cream or wax, which is ideal when applying to these specific areas and all go on smoothly and precisely, although I don’t favour using the included application brush, as it feels quite cheap and ineffective. This is ideal for anyone looking for a highlighting palette with more than one colour or finish option and has become the perfect addition to my make-up routine.

Blush by 3 in Pink Lemonade – I go through blusher like it’s going out of fashion and barely use the same brand twice, because I like to experiment, so a gorgeous palette like this one was always going to interest me. This set contains two powders and one cream, in different shades of pink, and I love them all. I have even built them on top of one another to create a uniquely warm shade. I also like the fact that this, along with most of the other products, come with a mirror in the case, which is ideal if you’re taking it along with you in your handbag. A definite worth-it purchase.

i-Divine Eyeshadow Palette in A New Day I’m a sucker for a neutral eyeshadow palette, so I thought this one would be right up my street when I spotted it in store. With light beiges and golds, to bronzes and deep browns, this has something for everyone who likes to create a neutral and/or smoky eyed look. The colours are pigmented perfectly and complement each other in any combination you choose to use, so they’ll suit any occasion. I’ve used it for a light, natural look, but also a full night out look, and love it for both. It isn’t quite the quality of the high end brands, but the price reflects that and it’s still amazing value for money considering what you do get. I highly recommend this.
