Being lifelong Disney fans it’s safe to say we already have our fair share of appropriate clothing and accessorises that we can take with us on our weekend away to Paris in a few weeks time, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been making the most of being able to buy a few new bits and bobs for us to wear while we’re there. I’m sure we’ll be posting a load of photos from our trip so you’ll get to see exactly what we get up to, including what we end up wearing but we thought we’d give you a little sneak preview.
DIY Mickey Mouse Ears
You may have seen our recent post where we showed you how we made our Mickey ears. It was surprisingly easy and means they will be truly unique when we wear them to the parks. I’m also planning on taking another black sequined set I bought last time we went to Disneyland 9 years ago, but I’ve customised them by adding a white lace bow to them. It’s always fun to embrace the Mickey / Minnie ears, like so many others do at the Disney parks, but this way we know that we have something unique that nobody else has – plus, it’s fun to match as a group!
Celebration Button Badges
It was great fun picking out the badges we liked as we wanted to get ones that reflected an element of our personalities in them. We settled on 2 badges each and they reflect some of our favourite Disney movies, but are a fun, new take on the official badges you can pick up at Disney parks when you are celebrating a special occasion (first visit, birthday, honeymoon, etc.) There are tons of shops on Etsy you can go to get these, so you can pick one that suits your favourite character or film or one that will just suit your mood.
As well as making the most of the many trips to Primark we’ve made over the years to stock up on their Disney attire, we’ve also made a few new purchases including this Forever21 baseball jacket, and these fun Rapunzel and Ariel t-shirts, with Mickey Mouse ears of their own. There are so many big name stores as well as Esty shops that stock Disney clothing these days, that you can usually pick up something that’s a bit different just by looking around and it’s fun to style an outfit around something Disney-related. We hope to buy a couple of special pieces when we’re at the parks to commemorate our trip (especially as we’re travelling during the 25th anniversary year), as that’s something that you can’t buy before you go, but we’ll just have to see what catches our eye.
