This is a super easy Christmas DIY which will be useful if you have a food gift to give or if you want to create an interesting table centrepiece for the season. If you’re like me then around December time you enjoy making things that will make Christmas more personal and home-made, but you don’t want to spend a ton of time on those things, when you want to also be cooking up a storm and picking out the ideal gift for everyone. So, here’s how to create these pretty and simple containers.
For any jars you want to add glitter to: place newspaper down on the surface you are working on; put masking tape over any area of the jar you don’t want covered in glitter; spray adhesive on the glass and quickly pour on the glitter, shaking off any excess; continue until all areas you want are covered; re-spray and glitter a second time if there are any gaps.
For the twine and tape jars: simply place a tiny amount of glue on the jar where you want the twine to start, and wrap the twine around the jar several times, overlapping it as you go; place a small amount of glue where you decide to end the line of twine; line up the washi tape and, turning the jar, stick it around the whole of the jar, trying to keep it as straight as possible.
Use a mixture of each of these techniques to create several uniquely decorated jars, that you can use for any purpose you like. I’ll let you know what I do with mine as soon as I decide!
